Spain's neighboring country, Portugal, conquered Brazil, and like Chile, it is located in South America. Like Spanish rulers, Portuguese rulers enslaved the Indians to work in the fields under harsh conditions. Furthermore, like the Spanish, the Portuguese expressed false rules that supposedly protected the rights of Indians, but in reality, Indians were vulnerable to enslavement. As the population of Brazil and Chile grew, many diversities and lifestyles appeared due to the arrival of foreign countries. Spain not only conquered Chile, but also it's neighboring country, Argentina. However, Argentina had to deal with aggressive and large amounts of invaders from Europe, such as Britain, France, and Germany. Similar in Chile, the Spaniards constantly interfered with the economy of Argentina and many of the indigenous people wanted to overthrow the foreign invaders and establish their own government.
